About DJT
DJT is a boutique tour operator owned by David Crosby and John Latimer. We create customized tours to special destinations based on our clients' dreams. We handle all aspects of your trip for you, our goal is for you to relax and enjoy your vacation while we handle all of the logistics and planning both before and during the trip itself. We were both faculty at Appalachian State University taking students on summer abroad trips together which ultimately led to our business partnership, when we listened to the parents of the students asking for trips for them in addition to their children.

David and John will organize all aspects of your holiday so you can relax both before the trip and during. We have taken great care to source the very best locations for lodging. We believe that finding unique properties with character enhance the experience of the tour. We have selected a variety of Villas, Relais, converted Castles and Palazzos, small contemporary locations, and older classic stalwarts for our evening repose. Each offer their own distinct charms, wether that be formal gardens, spas, tranquil views, or all three. Some of our choices you just won’t want to leave, they are so beautiful.

Each restaurant is carefully chosen to enhance your local experience.
To complement our accommodations we carefully choose a variety of establishments for dining. We look to balance fine dining in Michelin star restaurants to casual and cozy meals in family trattorias of the best caliber. Like choosing wines to match food we look to match restaurants to each day and the events we have planned. Enjoying the local cuisine of each region allows you to understand the deep regional pride that is inherent in each place we visit. We also make sure the experience of dining is itself an event to remember, with many venues that are visually stunning to make each meal even more memorable.

We custom plan each trip to the participants' desires. While we have certain events we hope to share with each group, it is most important to us that we survey the group for their particular interests. Some will want to tour the wineries, others will want to visit the historical sites, some prefer museums while others want outdoor adventures. Whatever the taste of the group we will design your experience specifically for your group.

Because we create such customized experiences we keep our groups small. We can arrange trips for groups as small as 6 people and we cap our trips at 12 participants. With our groups so small, we travel in vans and cars instead of tour buses. Ultimately, this is more comfortable for you and allows us to go to smaller venues where large tours just can’t go. Gather your family and/or friends and lets make some memories.
We suggest a package that includes Tuscany and Sicily together as an ideal tour.
We also suggest a package of the Piedmont region of northern Italy along with Lake Como or a tour of the Dolomites.
Add a side excursion over to see Croatia to any of these ideas.
Feel free to request any combination of the above or to add other areas of Italy. We are happy to take you down the Amalfi coast, into Florence, around Rome, through Puglia, etc., you name it, and we can arrange it.

MEET OUR GUIDES
David Crosby
Co-Owner of DJT, David has been a professional photographer and professor of Phototography for much of his life. He organised student study abroad trips which eventually led to starting DJT. David loves reading, food, and wine.
John Latimer
Co-owner of DJT, John has traveled the world since spending a year in Greece during college. Since then, he has explored the world through his passion for photography. John taught photography for over 15 years at various colleges and universities. He also loves cooking and tennis.
